Healthcast : A Study on Glucose and Women Drinking Alcohol

Women who drink a lot of alcohol and binge drink have higher glucose concentrations in their blood compared to men, even men who drank three times as much. This is according to a new Swedish study, which tracked nearly 900 people for 27 years. High blood glucose is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes.

British researchers said teenagers who use marijuana, even just occasionally, are more likely to use other drugs later in life. Their study looked at more than 5,000 teens and found marijuana users were more likely to drink and smoke cigarettes.


A Canadian study found children who drink non-cow’s milk are shorter than children who drink regular milk. For each daily cup of non-cow’s milk  they drink, children were 0.4 centimeters shorter than the average child.
