Littlefield Police arrested a woman for injury to a child, after responding to a call at the 400 block of Weidel Street.
According to Littlefield Police, officers got a call on Sunday just before 4 p.m. regarding a woman screaming and a child crying. When they arrived, one officer heard the sound of physical blows being struck and forced their way into the residence.
They found a six-year-old victim in the bedroom with a large laceration to one of her arms, a swollen face and cuts to her forehead. The child was first transported to the Lamb Healthcare Center by Littlefield EMS for treatment. Then, the child was transferred to Covenant Medical Center for treatment of possible internal injuries.
The mother, Labrea Monique Collins, 27, was arrested and booked into the Lamb County Jail.
