The Lubbock Police Department responded to a pedestrian on a bicycle being hit by a vehicle at 27th Street & Avenue Q Monday evening around 9 p.m.

According to police, one person sustained serious injuries in the accident. 

On Tuesday, the Lubbock Police Department released a press release with new information:

At 9:00 last night, Officers from the North District responded to a report of crash between a vehicle and pedestrian in the 2600 block of Ave Q.  A 1999 Toyota Camry driven by a 67 year old female was north bound in the 2600 block and the pedestrian, a 44 year old male, was east bound across Ave Q.  The pedestrian did not use the cross walk and did not yield the right of way to the vehicle and was struck.  The pedestrian was transported to UMC with life threatening injuries where he remains.

The Major Crash Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
