Lubbock Police respond to an accident involving two motorcycles

On Wednesday, the Lubbock Police Department responded to a crash involving two motorcycles at 95th Street and Quaker Avenue around 7:30 p.m.

According to LPD, there is at least one person with serious injuries. 


A photojournalist at the scene reported seeing helmets on the ground next to the motorcycles. 

Just after 9:00 p.m., LPD released the following alert:

The incident details at this time are: All northbound lanes of Quaker Avenue at 95th Street are shut down due to a major crash. Northbound traffic is being diverted east onto 96th Street. The LPD needs the public to avoid the area.   

On Thursday, LPD provided an update, saying, one 17-year-old motorcycle driver had moderate injuries, and an 18-year-old motorcycle driver had serious but non-life threatening injuries.
