The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 71st season tonight. The first concert of the year is the Fall Chamber.

This is the only chamber music series available here in the Hub City. Attendees can hear the talents that make up the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in a small private setting.

The series begins with the music of Arvo Part, Edward Elgar and Felix Mendelssohn. President and CEO, Galen Wixson, said members of the audience can expect exciting music in an intimate setting.

“They can expect being welcomed by friendly staff,” Wixson said. “Please feel free to dress casually. You don’t have to dress up to come to the symphony. We want you enjoy the show just as you are.”

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., at the Legacy Event Center. Tickets start at $35.
