On Tuesday, there was an update in a death investigation that EverythingLubbock.com has been following since February.
A medical examiner in Tarrant County ruled Baby Jayden’s death a homicide. He died in what police called suspicious circumstances while visiting his dad in Fort Worth. And months later, movement on the case has been made.
The autopsy said the 1-year-old died of blunt force trauma.
“I was angry and upset because I understand they have a lot more to do, but any parents would want their child to get justice and want it to hurry up and be a fast process,” said Jayden’s mom, Samantha Moctezuma.
Jayden was taken to the hospital under unknown circumstances and then died two days later in the hospital, after suffering from blunt force trauma.
“He was just a little baby. No baby deserves that. Nobody deserves that,” she said.
As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made. But in February, police named Jayden’s father as a person of interest in the death.
