The Overton Hotel and Conference Center is lighting up the night skies with arguably the largest “double T” in town.
The “double T” will be illuminated out of the windows of the hotel that face campus on Sunday and Monday evening, august 27th and 28th.
The chamber of commerce encourages local businesses to show support this time of year. Director of sales and marketing, Shannon Baker says. “This is a very exciting time of year as we welcome back students and kick off football season. The Overton Hotel is a big supporter of Texas Tech University. This is our eighth year to do this and it has become a tradition our staff and guests really look forward to. Every year we have a huge response and it is amazing to see a ‘double T’ so big.”
The “double T” can be viewed Sunday and Monday evening on the southwest side of the hotel, located at 2322 Mac Davis Lane. The “double T” is best viewed at night. Sunset is scheduled around 8:18pm.
The Overton Hotel is Lubbock’s largest conference hotel and features 303 guest rooms and Pecan Grill, serving modern cuisine with a Texas twist. Limited rooms are still available for the season opener game, call 806-776-7000 for reservations.
