A new study found women who regularly take low-dose aspirin lowered their risk of ovarian cancer by 23% compared to women who do not regularly take aspirin. Harvard researchers also found long-term heavy use of other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofin, may increase the risk of ovarian cancer.
Early signs of type 2 diabetes may be visible more than 20 years before diagnosis. Researchers in Japan tracked more than 27,000 people and found signs such as increased fasting glucose and body mass index were detectable up to 10 years before diagnosis of pre-diabetes.
Adults with arthritis are twice as likely to experience symptoms of anxiety and depression than those without. The CDC report found 9 million American adults with arthritis have anxiety, and 5 million have depression. The symptoms are much more common in middle-aged adults than older adults.
