A new CDC report finds about 120,000 people were diagnosed with a staph infection in 2017, and nearly 20,000 others died from the bacterial infection. The report shows hospitals have been successful reducing infection rates, but that facilities can still do a better job of limiting patient exposure.

The FDA said Apotex Corporation has voluntarily recalled birth control pills because of a packaging error. The company said the packages contained too many pills, too many placebos or empty pill spaces. So far, there have been no reported pregnancies because of the glitch.
