A new government watchdog report showed more than three-fourths of meat sold in U.S. supermarkets contains antibiotic resistant bacteria. The environmental working group’s analysis discovered so-called “superbugs” on nearly 80% of ground turkey sampled, 62% of ground beef and on more than a third of chicken breasts. Researchers stressed that consumers need to be vigilant about food safety especially when cooking for children, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems. 

People who see the same doctor over time are more likely to live longer. British researchers analyzed 22 studies from nine countries. They found significantly fewer deaths among patients who repeatedly used the same doctor, surgeon, psychiatrist or specialist.  

Undergoing cataract surgery could reduce your risk of a traffic accident. Canadian scientists recorded a 9% reduction in serious crashes among more than a half million cataract patients 65-years and older from 2006 to 2016.
