Australian research showed infants exposed briefly to anesthesia for minor surgeries will not develop brain or behavioral problems. The study examined 722 infants up to the age of five and found that one hour of general anesthesia was safe.

A large scale study of high school students shows legalizing medical marijuana has actually led to a small drop of cannabis use among teenagers. Some critics of medical marijuana have suggested legalizing cannabis would increase use in young people, but researchers at Boston College surveyed more than 800,000 high school students and found the opposite to be true.
