New research highlighted the health risks linked to job stress. A study in a Lancet journal followed more than 100,000 people. For men with coronary heart disease, stroke or diabetes, those experiencing job strain had a 68% greater risk of premature death.
Cancer survivors who stick to a balanced and nutritious diet may be less likely to die from cancer. Researchers at the University of Florida studied the benefits of a diet rich in produce, whole grains, proteins and dairy. Cancer survivors who followed that diet had a 65% lower risk of dying from cancer.
And one in four Americans develop insomnia each year. But 75% of them recover normal sleep within 12 months. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania said 21% continue to be poor sleepers and about 6% develop chronic insomnia.
