Spring Break is just around the corner, and European researchers said people who experience heart attack symptoms such as pain in their chest, throat, neck or back for more than 15 minutes while traveling should call an ambulance immediately. Researchers said knowing emergency numbers at any travel destination is critical because getting prompt medical attention could make the difference between life or death.
Another European study finds women are good about calling an ambulance for family members,but they skimp when it comes to their own health. Researchers analyzed nearly 7500 heart attack cases and found women experiencing symptoms were less likely to call for help within the 90 minute time frame needed for treatment.
New findings suggested people with obstructive sleep apnea may have higher deposits of an Alzheimer’s disease biomarker, according to research from the Mayo Clinic. Researchers found people with apneas had higher levels of tau protein in the brain which can erase memory.
