LUBBOCK, Texas– A new Ohio study shows current safety standards are not doing enough to stop laundry pod poisonings among young children. Data showed rates of exposure among children younger than six declined by only 18% and actually increased in older children and adults. Researchers said awareness campaigns and child resistant containers are good first steps, but that mandated packaging would be better . 

There’s new caution about taking antibiotics when undergoing dental work. Researchers in Oregon found the preemptive antibiotics dentists prescribe are unnecessary more than 80% of the time. 

Too much coffee may keep you up at night, but apparently won’t stiffen your arteries. New data from scientists in England, on even the heaviest coffee drinkers, contradicts previous studies, showing coffee was not as hard on the heart and circulatory system as previously thought.
