The American Academy Of Pediatrics recommended parents ask about the presence of guns before sending their children to a new home to play. Parents should find out if there is a gun in the residence and how it is stored.   Nearly 1.7 million children live in a home with a loaded, unlocked firearm.

Two groups of researchers found lung cancer growth can be controlled with drugs known as kinase inhibitors.   Doctors hope the discovery will lead to new treatments for deadliest form of cancer in both men and women.

A new study found no evidence that vitamin D protected against high blood pressure during pregnancy. Many pregnant women have low vitamin D levels and are advised to take supplements. Researchers in the UK found no link between vitamin D status and hypertension for pregnant women.
