A new study found big differences in the amount of radiation used in CT scans and said medical staff is to blame.  Researchers from the University Of California San Francisco found in many cases, doses can be reduced 50% or more without reducing quality or accuracy. They are calling for more consistent dosing standards to ensure patients aren’t exposed to unnecessary risks.  

A new analysis of dozens of studies on non-sugar sweeteners found no compelling evidence of significant health benefits, and there may even be potential harms. Researchers in Germany said the quality of some studies is low and that long term research is needed.  

There’s a new link between hearing loss and depression. A study from Columbia University Irving Medical Center found elderly patients with hearing loss have more symptoms of depression. The worse the hearing loss, the higher the risk of depression symptoms.
