MedMinute: Proper sunscreen application this summer

The Food and Drug Administration has approved the first new pill for endometriosis in a decade.
The drug Orilissa is designed to reduce pain by decreasing the production of the hormone estrogen.
In testing, it reduced menstrual pain in 7% of women.

A new study in JAMA finds treating heart attack patients for depression reduces their risk of having another cardiac event. Researchers found test participants who took the drug escitalopram were 13% less likely to have another heart attack than those who took a placebo pill.

British researchers said sunscreen users are getting less than the half the sun protection they need.
They say it was because many people don’t use enough of it. The researchers recommend buying sunscreen with a higher SPF than you think you need.
