People with religious affiliations may live longer lives. Ohio State University researchers looked at obituaries around the country and found people affiliated with a religion lived nearly 4 years longer than those without ties. Previous studies showed people who volunteer or participate in groups tend to have more longevity.  

International researchers say restricting prescription painkillers in the US was linked to increases in illicit drug trade online. Federal officials limited access to prescription drugs containing hydrocodone in 2014.

A New England Journal of Medicine study showed patients who follow diets supplemented with olive oil or nuts have fewer cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes than people who ate low fat diets.
