MedMinute: Teen car crashes on the rise

The number of teens dying in car crashes is on the rise. Now, the American Academy Of Pediatrics wants parents to remind teens about the dangers of distracted driving and speeding. Experts said parents can set a good example by using their seatbelt and putting their phones away while on the road. 

Children whose moms smoke marijuana are more likely to start using the drug at a younger age, according to a study from the Harvard School Of Public Health. 
Researchers said marijuana use among children has been linked to difficulty concentrating and making decisions, increased impulsivity, and lower IQ scores.


Obese or overweight women can safely cut calories while pregnant. In a Northwestern University study, obese and overweight women who gained five less pounds over the nine months, had babies who were born in a normal weight range. The women in the study received nutritional counseling and used a smartphone diet app.
