A study from Kaiser Permanente shows the prenatal T-Dap vaccination that protects against tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough does not increase the risk of Autism spectrum disorder in children. The study looked at more than 80,000 children born over a four year period. It found the Autism spectrum disorder rate was 1.5 percent in mothers who were vaccinated and 1.8 percent for those who were unvaccinated, compared to the U-S autism rate of 1.7 percent .
New research shows when people are rude to their coworkers or treat them badly- the mistreated people sometimes bring that home to their children. The research finds women in particular are more likely to engage in stricter parenting that can negatively impact their children. The bad behavior in the workplace extends to rude comments, ignoring someone and taking credit for the work of others.
College students may face pressures based on the secondary effects of the opioid epidemic. A survey found about 1 in 5 college students knew someone who was addicted to pain medications and almost a third knew someone who overdosed on painkillers or heroin.
