The American Academy of Pediatrics has called on the Consumer Product Safety Commission to immediately recall the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper. It has been tied to 32 sleep-related infant deaths, and the AAP has warned parents to stop using the sleeper now.

A number of states with high opioid abuse are blocking nurses from prescribing addiction medication, according to a new study. University of California San Francisco researchers found nurse practioners in Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and North Carolina are unable to prescribe Buprenorphine which reduces opiate withdrawal symptoms and cravings even though nurses are allowed to prescribe it under federal law.

New research from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute found high-dose vitamin D delays the progression of advanced colorectal cancer. Patients who took 4,000 international units of vitamin D every day were 36% less likely to die or have their cancer grow over a nearly 2-year period.

Parkinson’s disease patients who spent time moving through a virtual reality world, improved their balance and their ability to make their way around obstacles. Researchers at the University of Utah said patients were less likely to fall in real life after navigating their way in a VR world 30 minutes every day for 6 weeks.
