A reward offered to anyone who can help locate a man who has been missing for more than two years now. Dane Lee Hubbard vanished after he was seen walking near 35th Street and Slide Road. His dad believes he’s dead but wants to bring his body home.
On Monday night, Voice of the Missing held a somber birthday celebration in honor of Hubbard’s birthday.
The Voice of the Missing is a local group who dedicates their time to spreading the word about missing people in Lubbock years after they’ve gone missing, hoping to find new information.
They said sharing the information constantly is the key to finding the missing, like Dane Lee Hubbard.
At the birthday celebration, they sang happy birthday and prayed to find Dane Lee Hubbard. He vanished March of 2016 and was never seen again.
The Voice of the Missing said they will never give up though.
“They could be missing a year, their life still matters,” said Nina Valdez, director of Voice of the Missing. “It’s important to keep their faces out there, their stories. Never let them be forgotten.”
Hubbard’s dad now lives in Dallas, suffering from a terminal illness. His last wish is to see his son come home.
“He will never give up on him, on his last dying breath he will never give up,” Valdez said.
The Voice of the Missing said the best way to help is to share their posts on social media frequently to keep Dane and the other missing people’s pictures out there.
