After the weekend’s hailstorm, people are still working to fix damage to their cars.
According to State Farm Insurance, they’ve had 1,870 claims filed in Texas from the storm. Just in Lubbock, there have been 890 homeowners and 980 auto claims reported.
They sent their Weather and Catastrophe team to help with all the claims. They travel to 48 states assessing damage.
“It keeps you on your toes, and you are always working on a different group of people depending on where you end up,” Deployed Auto Team Manager Heath Rieger said.
Rieger said so far, they have seen vehicles with $5,000 to $15,000 in damage.
“Depending on where you where in town and how long the storm sat on top of you,” Rieger said.
This time they partnered with local auto shop Precision Body Works to make it a one-stop shop for customers.
“They can get the estimates faster, get them to us faster, so we can get them repaired and back to the customer in a timely manner,” Cory Carlock of Precision Body works said.
The claim adjusters work from the business’ garage and their mobile command units to help get customers back out on the road more quickly.
“If we are running house to house and can’t get a set up like this, we’ll do whatever it takes to get the customer taken care of,” Rieger said. “They are just happy to have us here to get that draft in their hand, and to get things taken care of and move on to the next step. Get their vehicle repaired and get back to normal life.”
