Two childhood friends reunite after years apart. One of them has become a spoiled princess, while the other, a sociopathic outcast. They learn to hate the rich step-father, and wrap their evil intentions around a local, small time hustler. The dark comedy is getting very good reviews. Thoroughbreds is rated R and runs an hour-and-a-psycho-half. Laugh at your own dark sizzle only at the Alamo Drafthouse.

The Viva Aztlan Festival celebrates its 24th year this weekend. There are  Ballet Folklorico Dance Workshops, Competitions, with Showcases and a Mariachi Concert. It’s certainly the most colorful weekend in Lubbock, and you can help celebrate this staple of tradition all day Saturday for just $7.00. The classic novel, A Wrinkle in Timehits the big screen again. It’s the story of Meg, a typical your teen whose parents are both famous physicists. Her father disappears mysteriously, and the quest to find out what happened spans the universe by crumpling space-time. The big budget Disney film is getting mixed reviews, but it is certainly a visual feast. It’s rated PG and runs two hours. Slip though the wormhole into the Alamo Drafthouse, either Cinemark and Stars & Stripes.. all at the same time? Hrmmm…
