On Monday, Texas Monthly released its Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas list where Evie Mae’s Barbecue Pit in Wolfforth was ranked 9th overall.
The joint, ran by Arnis and Mallory Robbins, began in April of 2015 in Wolfforth as a food truck before opening a restaurant at 217 Highway 62.
“The whole growth of the business has been so organic and driven by our customers,” Arnis added.
Evie Mae’s takes pride in its quality over quantity barbecue style. The pit usually has long lines, but according to Texas Monthly it is well worth it.
“Business has been driven by demand and we are just trying everything we can to keep up,” Mallory said.
The owners have begun extending seating and building a bakery to help with the high demand of customers. The renovations are set to be revealed in a short couple of months.
The Robbins continue to satisfy customers and build relationships in the meantime.
“If they have the time to spend to come and eat with us, I hope they enjoy the overall experience and that they value the entire experience,” Arnis said.
