A San Antonio woman is looking for her biological mother and needs your help. She was born in Lubbock and was given up for adoption in 1984. Through her search, she was able to find her dad but still is looking for her mother.

Morgan Borja was just 11 days old when she was adopted by the Poppell family. Although she said she had a great upbringing, she always wondered where she came from.

“I was adopted into a family of white people who are all beautiful, tall, skinny, blonde hair, blue-eyed. And I’m a thicker girl in comparison, I’m Hispanic, I have dark hair. I’m just the total opposite of my whole family,” Borja said.

She found her dad, Cosme Charles, using Ancestry.com. Unfortunately, he died in 2005. She was able to connect with her father’s side of the family though who still live in Lubbock.

“I cried, immediately started crying because I always wondered my whole life about my biological family,” said Borja.

However, she still couldn’t find her mom. Her dad’s side of the family didn’t have information on her birth mother, so she started asking for help from the people of Lubbock.

“I put my info out there. Any Facebook pages with adoption info, I put my info on that as well. Just any way I could get it publicized of who I am, I tried,” said Borja.

She has been using her dad’s photo on social media posts, hoping someone in Lubbock might recognize the photo and connect the dots.

“I’m hoping someone will see the picture and realize that they dated that person, they had a child by that person that they put up for adoption and see the connection that I am that child,” she said.

She now needs Lubbock’s help to reunite her with her mom, 34 years later.

“If I received that message, I would be rejoicing. I’d be so excited. I think I would feel complete,” she said.

Borja was born on July 2, 1984 and was adopted through the Smithlawn Adoption Agency. She said her mom would be 55 now.
