A candlelight vigil on Friday, marking four years since 18-year-old Zoe Campos went missing. She was supposed to pick up her mom but never showed up. Since then, her family has been searching for answers.
“It’s really disappointing. Frustrating. We’re not anywhere closer than where we were the first day four years ago, not anywhere closer, and it’s just, it gets harder and harder every year,” said Melinda Campos, Zoe’s mother.
Friday is the four-year anniversary of her disappearance.
“The first year it was hard, me and my daughter were talking and we’re just so numb,” said Campos.
Over the years, three different detectives have worked on her case but they all seem to come up short. Campos hopes there’s a break in the case soon.
“They said they were working on a bunch of leads and that people are still calling in,” said Campos about her most recent meeting with detectives.
The Campos family are holding tight to their faith and memories of Zoe, praying for a miracle. At the end of the vigil, they released balloons with a prayer note attached to them asking for answers.
“We just want people to still know that she’s still missing and we’re still looking,” said Campos.
