Mostly Sunny & Humid: It’s a bit muggy across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains this morning thanks to a southeasterly wind that has brought low level moisture back into the region. Combined with the daytime heating, there may be a stray shower or storm this afternoon and early in the evening. Most of us will remain dry. Otherwise expect mostly sunny conditions today.

The Heat Returns This Week:  Enjoy the near-average temperatures during the early part of the week as highs will be in the lower 90s. The heat ridge will build back across the area by the middle and later half of the week. Highs will climb back into the upper 90s. With the high pressure in control, expect ample sunshine. Overnight lows in the upper 60s to start the week but then we’ll warm into the lower 70s the rest of the week.

Slightly Cooler This Weekend: The heat will back off some this coming weekend with highs falling back into the middle 90s. We’ll also see a few more clouds around by the weekend.

Summer 2016: The summer solstice will occur on Monday, June 20th at 5:34 p.m. CT.

College World Series Forecast: Texas Tech will take on Florida Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in Omaha. Temperatures will be into the middle 80s at first pitch. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise it will be partly sunny.
