A Coronado Homecoming Tradition: Football Players Ask Special Needs Students

Football players and cheerleaders at Coronado High School flooded into the cafeteria on Thursday afternoon to ask the special needs students to homecoming, presenting them with mums and flowers. A tradition started by Noah Sifrit, who graduated last year but was able to inspire underclassmen to keep the tradition going.

Cheerleader Haley Norris said last year she stood along Noah when he helped lead the group in handing out mums.

“It feels good, to make them smile and happy they are always looking forward to it you can feel them looking forward to it,” Norris said.

Football player, Caden Hensley said he played with Noah last year, and he made a pact with his teammates to keep the tradition going.

“When you try to include everybody it just makes it a lot more fun,” Hensley said.

Coronado will face off Andrews at their homecoming game Friday night.
