The American Cancer Society Bark for Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.
There will be games, demonstrations, contests and more. It is $20 to register and you will receive a t-shirt and a bandana. There is a two dog limit and it is $5 to register a second dog.
Event leader, CiCi Nunez, said the funds will go toward the ultimate goal of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
“We’re raising money for the American Cancer Society and the great programs that we do,” Nunez said. “We have our Hope Lodge here in Lubbock and some of the money will help fund that and then of course all of the other great events we do.”
Bark for Life will be held at Jennings Park on Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. Pre-register at www.relayforlife.org/barklubbocktx.
