A local business owner is grateful no one was hurt after a car smashed into Elite Nails and Spa Salon on 57th and Slide Monday afternoon. The owner says the most important thing is that no one was hit, but she knows it could have been much worse.
“I was just in shock. My heart just dropped because I didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Because I know this place is always busy. So I’m like if a car ran through this place. Someone was going to get hurt,” said Teresa Luong, Elite Nails and Spa Owner.
Luong said the driver of the car hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and it was an accident.
“They had to evacuate the place for safety reasons,” said Luong, “She wasn’t hurt, thank goodness. She wasn’t hurt. She was really scared. She was really shaken up. We calmed her down. She’s a regular.”
But even with a full house of clients, no one was hurt. Now it’s all just about picking up the mess
“They’re doing it right now. So hopefully it’ll be done by today. Hopefully, we’ll try to open up fro business tomorrow. We’re going to board up the place and get this cleaned up,” Luong said.
She knows these items can be replaced, but her customer’s lives can’t
Luong said, “God was with everyone today.”
