Celebrity Attractions, a national theater touring company, has cut its ties with Lubbock after a 23-yearlong relationship.

“We’ve been doing Broadway in Lubbock for 23 years, starting at the Municipal Auditorium building. But through the years, we saw, as the city stopped keeping up with it, our attendance started to decline,” Randy Cole, senior marketing manager for Celebrity Attractions, said.

The theater had aged, and the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center theater is too small for their productions to handle, Cole said.

“Broadway shows carry four trucks, and the Civic Center only holds two to one show trucks,” Cole said.

Celebrity Attractions had two spring productions lined up for Lubbock: “The Wizard of Oz” and “Dirty Dancing.”

The company is offering refunds for those who had tickets to see their spring shows. Click HERE for their contact information.
