The City of Lubbock is still asking residents to keep up with their yards despite the rain.

“We have been very busy the rain has put a damper on us and with the rain the weed growth has been a lot,” Stuart Walker the City of Lubbock Code Administrator said.

Walker said they have been handing out notices to make residents aware that they are still looking at weeds despite the rain.

“Right now its just too wet to have the equipment on the properties we mow. I have had one guy get a tractor stuck. We see that if we cant do it we don’t expect property owners to do it but once it dries up we expect people to be back out,” Walker said.

Walker said people can ask for an extension if they have received a notice. You can call 775-3000 and ask for the Codes Department.
