Valentine’s Day is full of love and some Hub City couples celebrated in a big way by getting married.
Aurora Chaides-Hernandez, Justice of the Peace, said this is one of her favorite days of the year.
“It’s one of my happier days because instead of making a ruling on something, this one you are just happy for everyone involved,” Aurora said.
Dozens of couples made their way to the Lubbock County Courthouse and signed their name on the dotted line to become man and wife.
“It’s kind of a special day for us because it was the first holiday together that we celebrated as a couple,” said Melissa and Alejandro Parra, a couple getting married. “We wanted to keep it as an easy date to remember!”
Some of the couples brought balloons, gifts, and other family members to mark the occasion.
Chaides-Hernandez said all of the weddings were unique, but were all memorable to the couples.
