The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find out who is responsible for cutting the fence of a domestic deer farm off of the 5400 block of FM 179.

It happened around midnight on June 14th, deputies told everythinglubbock that the person or persons drove the deer from individual enclosures in an effort to release them.

Escaping through the broken fence, some of the deer ran off while others were hit by oncoming traffic. Some of the baby deers who lost their mothers now have to be bottle fed.

Resident of nearby neighborhood, Llano Estates, Bryan Studer said he heard about the event on the neighborhood facebook group.

“I’ve lived here for three years and I’ve never heard of anything like this happening, I hate to hear about it,” said Studer.

Llano Estates HOA president, Angie Tell said some of the deer wandered into the neighborhood and her front porch camera took still pictures of them. Other neighbors saw deputies helping to round up the deer.

“It’s an odd thing I hate that happened, especially on 179 it being so busy with Frenship being down the street, causing people to get in wrecks and animals getting killed,” Tell said.
