Early Wednesday morning at around 3 a.m., Lubbock Police responded to a North Lubbock home in response to multiple shots fired. Upon arrival they found a residence and vehicle near E. Rice Street and N. Cedar Avenue peppered in bullets.
There were four family members inside the home at the time of the shooting, the youngest being a 10-year-old child. No injuries were reported, but at least 20 bullet holes were scattered across the front of the house and the truck that was parked outside.
One of the bullets managed to pierce through the garage door and hit a dryer inside the house. Bullets fired at the entrance of the home completely shattered the family’s front glass door.
According to Lubbock Police, it appears that the shooting was an isolated crime, and that the suspect targeted only this home before driving way from the scene.
Residents down the street said that they could hear the gunshots clearly when they first rang out and that they were concerned for their neighbors.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact police at 806-741-1000.
