Menchie’s, located in the Kingsgate (8201 Quaker Avenue, #103) and the West End (2910 West Loop 289, #915) shopping centers, encourages kids to read over the Christmas break.
Missy Landess, Menchie’s Owner says, “We give the students bookmarks; if they read 10 books, they can come in and get an 8-ounce free yogurt. We have handed these out to all the elementary schools in Lubbock, within the city of Lubbock, Lubbock ISD and the private schools.”
They also provide teachers with a reward card that students can use for more sweet treats.
“There’s a Mench-tastic job card for a 5 ounce free yogurt,” Landess says. Teachers may also hand out reward cards for a good attendance and even for good behavior.
