Give a child a Christmas miracle through the Salvation Army Angel Tree at the South Plains Mall

There are so many ways you can give back this holiday season, but the Salvation Army Angel Tree programs is an easy way to give a child a Christmas miracle. There’s a couple ways you can participate—by purchasing gifts for a child or as a volunteer. Either way, the process is simple.

Salvation Army volunteer, Keely Walker, says, “I started last week and I just think it’s such an amazing opportunity to help the children, because it really does make their Christmas and just makes their day better, so why not want to help.”

But, for those who choose to gift a child, it can be quite cost effective, especially when you do it as a group. Several of us here at the station put our funds together and were able to give a hopeful Christmas to five children. It’s never been easier to make a child smile this holiday.
“You just walk up and you can get a slip off the tree. It says their name, their wish, so that’s one of the biggest things. But it also leaves notes like their clothes size, shoe size sweater size. And, so anything is an awesome help and it would definitely make their Christmas a Christmas miracle and make it amazing,” Walker said.
There are several Angel Tree locations in the South Plains Mall.
“It’s extremely easy. We have three locations: one in Sears, Barnes and Noble and then over here at JCPenny and Bealls. Anything anybody can do to help is just an amazing blessing,” says Walker.
If you would like to participate simply stop by one of the Angel Tree locations in the South Plains Mall. For more information about the Salvation Army visit their website.
