LUBBOCK, Texas — With theft across the South Plains, Lubbock Police Department is urging citizens to turn in their surveillance footage.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, these videos are one of the greatest tools they have in fighting crime.
“If you have surveillance footage, it can be an enormous factor in your case,” said Tiffany Taylor, with Lubbock Police Department. “Our investigators can then use that footage and compare it to other crimes which could have happened in the area.”
The process of identifying suspects can be frustrating. However, LPD said the communication between officers and the community is vital to solving these crimes.
“There are many cases where we just can’t do it without the public help, and more of our investigators ask to put out those videos to the public because they know the value of getting the faces out there,” Taylor said.
