Texas Tech Athletics is kicking off the new school year with a new menu for its game days. The baseball and football stadiums will now be cooking up ribeye burgers, steak tips and even hot links at future games.

“I was looking at the hot wings earlier, but now I might switch to the ribeye burger I’ve heard so much about,” said Jonathan Botros, senior associate athletics director.

Botros said the school tries to change its menu every few years, which is all part of increasing the fan experience.

“We are so excited, we are going to win every single game this year,” said Charlie Carrizalez, a general manager for food service company Spectra. “We have all this new good food, what more could you ask for?”

The new menu is just one of the many changes coming to Jones AT&T Stadium.

“We’re going to have charging stations, portable charging stations, so whenever you come into the stadium, you will always have power,” said Botros.

However, if you are holding out for beer to join the menu, you might be waiting for awhile.

“We are always looking at what everybody’s doing around the country, and while we know some other Big 12 schools have started to sell beer, we are just not considering that for the upcoming season,” Botros said.

Even without alcohol sales, Botros said Red Raider football season will still be a lot of fun.

“I think this is the best time of the year,” he said. “We love gearing up for this, and we know everyone is going to be so excited when they see all the changes.”
