Lightning McQueen is now living in the Hub City after parents, ToniMarie and Mark Valencia, surprised their 3-year-old son with his hero.
“He was like is that my car? Is that my car,” ToniMarie said. “I was like yes baby that’s your car.”
According to the parents, they renovated their red Dodge into Lightning McQueen after their eldest son moved to college. It was a five month process and was not given to Mark Junior until late March.
“Getting him to take off the car keys now is just impossible,” ToniMari said. “He wakes up in the morning puts it right on, and doesn’t take it off until he goes to bed, he knows it’s his car.”
The Valencias said they hope their car brings the community as much joy as it does for their son.
“Everybody is talking about it, taking pictures, posing in front of it,” Mark said. “It’s all been worth it after seeing the happiness in my son’s and other kid’s eyes.”
