Six days after a vital package was stolen off a Lubbock porch, a local family is waiting for the criminals to be apprehended.
The Nicholson family took to social media after three packages were stolen off their front porch. One of those packages contained $3,000 worth of medication for their 8-year-old son.
“Please give it back. I need that medicine for my legs,” Henry Nicholson, who has rheumatoid arthritis and needs the stolen medicine, said.
The packages were stolen on Thursday. Nearly a week later, police have not arrested the suspects.
“As recognizable as she is, I am confident she will be caught soon. Since the medication is no longer good, the most we can hope for is getting her off the streets so she stops hurting people,” Charla Nicholson, Henry’s mom, said.
The family was able to get an emergency refill, but they said it isn’t going to make anything easier. They said they need the box returned, so they can prove to the insurance company that it was stolen.
“If the box of medication is found, we can still return it to the pharmacy, and they will credit our account,” Charla said.
Lubbock Police released this statement on this incident:
“The Lubbock Police Department is actively investigating the Nicholson’s case involving the theft of a package. In situations like these where there is footage of the crime occurring, it is extremely helpful to our investigators who follow these leads. We ask that anytime a member of the public has video of a crime occurring, that they come forward with that evidence so we can further investigate the case and circumstances surrounding it. The likelihood of our detectives identifying and locating a suspect goes up whenever video, or photograph evidence is provided.”
