Several residents throughout Lubbock have been putting forth an effort to help those down by the Texas coast affected by the storm. One local man has decided to think outside the box and raise funds to fill tanks up with diesel down to those recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
“I’m planning on filling this up with diesel and taking it down to trucks, generators and water pumps, most of that runs off of diesel. With the state of things right now, with the refineries shutting down, fuel is becoming scarce,” Leonard Kitten, the Volunteer driving the fuel down said.
Kitten said once the storm hit he knew he had to do something and he had a few fuel tanks just laying around.
“This is a small trailer, it’s 930 trailer. I also have a 150 gallon tank in the back of the pickup plus another 75 gallon tank,” Kitten said.
Kitten is planning on leaving Friday September 1st, but he is still looking for donations to help the tanks, if you can help click HERE.
