On the eve of the royal wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Maureen Davis was baking scones in her kitchen.
“We’re going to start meeting at 3:30 a.m. We will have tea cakes and probably a toast to the family,” Davis said.
Davis said she’s a self-titled “royals junkie.”
“What else is an old lady to do? It’s just a habit. We enjoy it, we get together and it’s just fun,” Davis said.
Davis also has a large collection of tea cups and saucers, representing several major events throughout the royals’ history.
“This started with a tea cup and saucer that my mother bought back in 1937,” Davis said.
Now she has dozens, sitting in a china cabinet in her home.
“Every time something new comes out like this one tomorrow (the wedding), I get a tea cup and saucer or something like that for them,” Davis said.
Davis said she will continue to collect items as long she can.
