Several Lubbock locals returned home from Las Vegas after a mass shooting claimed multiple lives on the Las Vegas Strip.
“We sat next to some people who were actually there, at the concert. It is just horrible. I am just very, very thankful that I was with my friends and that we were not there in the actual place where the shooting occurred,” Kimberly Crisler, who was right down the Strip when the shooting happened said.
Southwest Airlines has one direct flight to Lubbock each day. Once all passengers are off the plane it then proceeds to a direct flight back to Las Vegas.
Jason Meredith and his wife boarded the flight back to Las Vegas despite the aftermath of the mass shooting.
“Like I said you can’t quit living life. You have got to just go. Regardless of what you are going to see. That’s what we are supposed to see,” Meredith said.
