The Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for their upcoming December community-wide events. 

On the schedule for Saturday, December 2, 2017: 

Maxey Community Center 4th Annual Breakfast with Santa:

Bring your kids and grandkids to Maxey Community Center for the 4th Annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Families will enjoy keepsake holiday crafts, a delicious brunch, and photos with Santa as their children share their Christmas wishes.  Cost is $10 per person.  Pre-registration is required by Thursday, November 30. Families can register in advance at the center or online at www.playlubbock.com.  For more information, call Maxey Community Center at (806) 767-3796. Rawlings Community Center’s Holiday Crafts Bazaar: 

Holiday shoppers can avoid the crowds and look for unique gifts on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as the Copper Rawlings Community Center hosts their 17th Annual Holiday Crafts Bazaar. Shoppers can choose from handcrafted items such as wood crafts, ornaments, jewelry, candles, dolls, toys, baked goods, and more.  Sign up for door prizes!  Snacks and concessions will be available. 

Limited booth space is still available for area vendors and artisans that would like to rent a booth.  Pricing is $10 for a 6’ x 6’ booth area with one six-foot table and two chairs provided for each booth. 9th Annual Santa Paws: 

Santa Claus is coming to town, and he wants to meet your pet!  Hodges Community Center is hosting their 9th Annual Santa Paws on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Bring your pet and get their picture taken with Santa.  Bring the whole family and get in the picture for a complete “family” portrait.  Photos are $5 each and include a holiday card.  Guests are welcome to bring their own camera.  The first fifty families will receive a holiday treat bag for their pet.  Admission is free. Dogs must be on leash at all times and have proof of current rabies vaccination.  City of Lubbock Animal Services will be available during this event to provide microchips for your dogs at a cost of $10 cash per dog.  

Hodges Community Center is located at 41st Street and University Avenue.

A reminder that all city offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, both on Thursday and Friday. They will return to normal schedule, Monday, November 27.
