Lubbock Power & Light wants customers to remember that as temperatures increase, air conditioning units work a lot harder to keep you home cool.
“This is the hottest summer we have had since 2011,” said Matt Rose, Spokesperson for LP&L.
These higher temperatures will naturally increase your bill, according to Rose.
Some tricks that will help keep your bill down are keeping the blinds closed, turning up your thermostat when you leave for work and installing more insulation, said Rose.
“So right now, this summer, the average LP&L customers rate is lower than it was this time last year, but the temperatures are far hotter and we are seeing more consumption by our customers,” Rose said.
If you’re having trouble paying your bill, Rose said customers should contact LP&L.
