A Texas family said they gained closure through heartbreak when their son’s body was found in a storm drain in East Lubbock Tuesday. Jacob Duffee, 30, had been missing since September 27. But before the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office could completely identify the person, other families missing loved ones had a glimpse of hope.
“When you hear that somebody is missing and then you hear that someone is found you keep thinking maybe it’s good news,” Lonnie Wilhite said. His sister, Linda Wilhite went missing on August 16, 2016.
“When I went down there this time the front door was closed and it was locked,” Wilhite said. “That’s why I got concerned and I called my cousin to see if she could get ahold of her. She tried and she couldn’t either.”
The next day Linda was reported missing. When Lubbock Police searched her home, documents state blood was found in various places of the house.
Her son, 45-year-old Kody Climber, was arrested a month later and indicted for her murder. However, her body is still missing.

Local Law enforcement said they are also searching for Maegen Hembree, who would be 34 years old now.
She was last seen on February 26, 2013 while driving from Smyer into Lubbock in her red Saturn vehicle. Her family said she was on her way to her friend’s house, but never made it.
Maegen’s father, Jerry Hembree, told EverythingLubbock.com the police have a person of interest in this case.
“They have to know that we’re still on this and they have to know that we’re still looking for her, and they have to know that we’re not going to stop until we find her,” Hembree said.
A witness told police she was last seen with Michael Todd Ramsey, an acquaintance of Maegen’s.
Ramsey is being held in jail in East Texas on unrelated charges.
