The Slaton Police Department told everythinglubbock that 16-year-old Baillie Renfro of Slaton has been found safe with her mother in Oklahoma. Slaton Police Chief, Trevor Barnes said Renfro has been missing last week where she was last seen going to the movies in Lubbock.

“We can confirm she was seen in a vehicle with two males and a female friend, and her destination was the movies but we do not have anything to confirm she made it there,” Barnes said.

Initially filed as a runaway she was upgraded to a missing person as days passed. Barnes said it was discovered that she may of been traveling with 31 year-old Arnulfo Alvarado to Colorado. Barnes said Slaton Police received assistance from agencies across the state and federal agencies as well in the search for Renfro.

“There have been a lot of rumors on Facebook and Facebook messaging back and forth but when it comes to a governmental agency we have to go off of facts not opinions,” Barnes said.

On Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 4:38 pm the Slaton Police Department received confirmation that the missing person Billie Dawn Renfro has been located.  

This has been an ongoing effort with Company “C” of The Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshal’s Office, Elk City Oklahoma Police Department, and many others.  

All agencies are relieved that Billie is in the safe custody of her mother at his time.  

The investigation continues, nothing further at this time.
