Linda Carbajal’s body was found on a county road just east of New Deal in April 2004.
More than 14 years later, her family is still searching for answers.
“To whoever did this, please come forward and tell us you did it,” Mary Trevino, Carbajal’s mother, said.
Texas Rangers said Carbajal’s body showed signs of strangulation and blunt force trauma.
“When they opened up the coffin, you know, it hit me pretty hard. The only reason I knew it was her was because of a tattoo on her calf,” Trevino said.
Trevino has continued to search for her daughter’s killer. She said she believes more than one person was involved in the murder of Linda.
“Rosendo (Rosendo Rodriguez III) never got a chance to confess to killing Linda. Linda used to date him, and I know he had something to do with it,” Trevino said.
The Department of Public Safety is offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest in this cold case.
